The handsome 1918 canoe is pictured here during restoration. The fully finished boat, with red exterior, will be on display, and on the auction block, at the LGA Gala.
1918 Old Town Guide Canoe: Former LGA Board Chair Jeff Killeen fell in love when he saw this 18-foot canoe, so he bought her and had her restored. A few years ago, the canoe went in for a second restoration at Tumblehome Boatshop, with the plan to donate it as an auction item at the LGA Gala. In the winter of 2021-22, several ribs and some planking were replaced, and small repairs made to the stems. It was recanvassed with traditional cotton duck and the weave filled with a traditional filler. This spring, the outwales were repaired and a new keel added. She has not hit the water since the restoration.
