From the watershed's first sanitation surveys in the late 1800s to road salt reduction and invasive species prevention today, one thing has remained consistent: protecting Lake George requires a dedicated, caring community that is willing to speak up and take action.
The stories in this year's Annual Report are not just about LGA efforts in 2025. They are proof that science, partnerships and community can create lasting change over decades.
As new challenges emerge over time, the Lake George Association and its members will continue listening to the Lake and serving as its voice.

140 Years of Lake Protection
In 2025, the Lake George Association celebrated an important milestone: 140 years of protecting Lake George.
While our work remained firmly focused on the Lake itself, we also spent much of the year looking inward to strengthen our organization, grow our team and chart a clear path into the future. As we explored our archives and unearthed old scientific reports, newsletters, Board minutes, watershed- and state-level policy recommendations, and even our original 1885 certificate of incorporation, we are reminded that every generation has faced its own challenges... and opportunities.
We are deeply grateful for the generations of supporters, volunteers, scientists, donors, partners and community leaders whose dedication has made our work over the past 140 years possible, and who help us overcome water quality protection challenges and navigate the opportunities of today.
