Looking to learn more about Lake George this summer? If so, you're in luck! The Darrin Freshwater Institute (DFWI) recently announced their Summer Lecture Series lineup. Each lecture addresses fascinating stories about Lake George, including talks on its history, science, architecture and so much more.
The DFWI Summer Lecture Series kicked off on June 29, 2026, with a fabulous presentation by DFWI Outreach Intern, Jasmine Antonucci, discussing “Observation as a Practice: Nature, Citizen Science, and the Art of Noticing.” The series will continue each Monday at 7:00PM at the DFWI Lodge, running from June 29 until August 17!
The Darrin Freshwater Institute is a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) facility that houses the Jefferson Project, our scientific research collaboration with RPI and IBM. Through Jefferson Project science, Lake George has become "The World's Smartest Lake." This collaboration is one of the factors ensuring that Lake George remains one of the cleanest lakes in the United States.

“What is driving the nearshore algal populations in Lake George?”
Each lecture will start at 7:00PM in the DFWI Lodge, 5060 Lake Shore Dr. Bolton Landing, NY.
