All About Water Quality

Since 1991, future generations of Lake Protectors have begun their protection journeys on board the LGA’s Floating Classroom. This year, we are proud to offer a new program aboard the Floating Classroom - introducing All About Water Quality.

Join us for a 90-minute experience where participants will be immersed in Lake George water quality and return to shore with a whole new understanding of what it takes to keep Lake George clear and clean.

In collaboration with the Jefferson Project, participants will get an in-depth look at a Jefferson Project profiler, learn what the profiler is sampling and how frequently. Through hands-on experiments, participants will mimic a profiler from the deck of the Floating Classroom and learn about the remarkable ecology and health of our Lake.

Reservations are required. No tickets will be sold at the boat.

The Floating Classroom will set sail from the dock at the end of Lower Amherst Street. Check-in at the dock 15 minutes prior to your ticketed program time on the day of your trip.

There is no designated parking for the program. The electronic meters in the Village are $2 an hour. Please note: It is advised to download the ParkMobile app before coming to the Village. When the Village is busy, the cellular signal/Wi-Fi drops, and connecting and downloading can be very difficult.
